2. Crosshead Pin −
Removal
WARNING
Injury Hazard: The weight
of the lifting tool (94324) is
approx. 104 kg; the weight
of the lifting tool (94337) is
approx. 43 kg. Use
approved equipment or
sufficient personnel to lift
and move the equipment.
1) Use an applicable tool to remove the
compression shim.
2) Use the engine room crane to attach
the lifting tool (94324, Fig.2) to the
crosshead.
3) Apply lubricating oil SAE 30 to the
threads and the surfaces that touch of
the screws (1) on the lifting tool
(94337).
4) Attach the lifting tool (94337) to each
side of the connecting rod (2).
5) Torque the screws (1) to 150 Nm.
6) Put the tools that follow on the platform
(94144, Fig. 3):
a) Chain block (H5).
b) Chain block (H2).
c) Bracket (94322B).
d) Shackle (94019L).
e) Eye bolt (94045-M56).
f) Chain block (H3).
g) Shackle (94019P).
7) Make sure that the tools do not fall.
