3. Sealing Faces − Grind
Use a medium to coarse grade emery cloth
(30 to 80 CAMI) to remove deep notches of
more than 0.1 mm.
Use a fine or ultra-fine grade emery cloth
(100 to 600 CAMI) to get a smooth finish.
To get a clean and smooth finish on the pipe
do the procedure that follows:
1) Put the template (94870H, Fig. 10) on
the back of emery cloth.
2) Use a pencil or a ball pen to make the
inner shape.
3) Cut out accurately the shape.
4) Make the shape into a cone. Make sure
that the graded surface is the inner
side.
5) Attach the emery cloth to the cone of
the grinding tool (94870F) with the
countersunk screw.
6) Install the HP fuel pipe (1, Fig. 11) in a
vice.
7) Remove the claw (2) from the HP fuel
pipe (1).
8) Attach the locknut (94870G) to the
threads on the end of the HP fuel
pipe (1). Turn the locknut until it is fully
attached to the HP fuel pipe.
9) Attach the screw-on sleeve (94870E) to
the locknut (94870G).
10) Lock the screw-on sleeve in position
with the locknut (94870G).
11) Attach the grinding tool (94870F,
Fig. 12) to the hand drill.
12) Put the grinding tool (94870F) into the
screw-on sleeve (94870E). Make sure
that emery cloth touches the HP fuel
pipe (1).
13) Adjust the speed of the hand drill to a
maximum of 1500 rpm.
14) Operate the hand drill for 3 seconds to
5 seconds.
