CHECKING AND CHARGING THE BATTERY/
CHECKING THE FUSE

6. Install:
battery
7. Connect:
battery leads
(to the battery terminals)
CAUTION:
First, connect the positive battery lead ,
and then the negative battery lead .
8. Check:
battery terminals
Dirt

Clean with a wire brush.
Loose connection

Connect properly.
9. Lubricate:
battery terminals
10. Install:
battery cover

CHECKING THE FUSE
1. Remove:
• the battery cover
See the “FRONT BODYWORK” section
2. Inspect:
• fuse
Defective

Replace

Steps to be taken for blown fuses:
• Disconnect the ignition and circuit.
• Install a new fuse of the correct amperage.
Connect the switches to check the correct
operation of the electrical device.
If the fuse blows immediately after, check the
circuit concerned.


WARNING
Do not use fuses of a higher amperage
than that recommended. This can
cause extensive damage to the electri-
cal system and fire.
Recommended lubricant
Dielectric grease
