CHECKING THE CYLINDER AND PISTON
1. Eliminate:
• carbon deposits
Use a rounde scraper 
2. Inspect:
• cylinder wall Wear/striping

Rectify or
change
3. Eliminate:
• carbon deposits
From the piston crown  and ring groovers
.
4. Remove:
• cracking marks and carbon deposits on
piston sides.
5. Inspect:
• piston wall
Wear/striping/damage

Replace.
6. Measure:
• piston to cylinder clearance
