Figure 98: Wireless configuration
Wireless configuration is made up by 8 steps, respectively for enabling the adapter and configuring the
network name, the WEP authetication mode, the network password, the DHCP, the IP address, the network
mask and the gateway (Figure 96).
If wireless adapter is disabled at step #1 then further configuration steps are not requested and “Next” soft
key is turned into “Ok” for just confirming.
Step #3 (WEP authentication mode) is only shown if the network selected at step #2 is WEP-protected (no
need to specify WEP authentication mode for open, WPA/PSK or WPA2/PSK networks).
If DHCP is enabled at step #5 then further configuration steps are not requested and “Next” soft key is turned
into “Ok” for just confirming DHCP enabling (DHCP can be toggled just by tapping the correspondent switch
on the touch-screen).
Wireless configuration is changed upon pressure over “Ok”: if no errors messages are reported after that,
then wireless configuration has been successfully completed.
9.8.6 External router
Aesys® TC-430™ can be connected to central server through a router connected via Ethernet cable to the
control unit. In such a scenario the external router is used *instead* of internal TC-430™ wireless adapter.
The availability of an external router is usually configured trough Verba 2014 [1]; anyway if wireless settings
override has been enabled (paragraph 9.8.4) then the router configuration can be modified by accessing
“Setup
Network interfaces
Router”.
