The procedure for loading a new data file into the system can also be started selecting Menu
Load data
file” from the main screen.
The file list can be scrolled by sliding the touch-screen, or using the arrow up/down button of the keypad.
Folders can be entered by selecting them and pressing Select, and can be left (upward) pressing Move
upbutton. It is also possible to navigate the folders hierarchy by simply tapping the name of an open folder
in the bar above the files list (the bar can be slid horizontally if it does not fit on the screen).
The selected data file is loaded into the system pressing “Ok”.
If the file being loaded is a complete VDB file or a TRX file, then it is immediately applied (the new data level
and unit profile specified by the file is shown in the status bar). If the file being loaded is a differential VDB
file then its activation is delayed until the activation date/time specified within the file itself has elapsed (it is
immediately activated if the activation date/time occurs in the past).
If an error occurs during the data file processing, then a proper message is shown by the control-unit.
Be aware!
A new data file cannot be processed until there is some active service on the TC-430™. Please
abandon any current service (destination, P/R, info message, dash message, workshift, roadmap, trip)
for allowing the processing of upcoming data updates.
7.1.3 Media loading
A media package is an archive containing some media files (video) to be published by LCD screens
connected via network to the control unit (see paragraph 7.1.6). A media file is basically a ZIP file containing
media files.
For loading a new media package to the control unit, the same procedure explained for data loading (see
paragraph 7.1.2) can be followed simply selecting a media package instead of a data file.
This applies either for uploading files containing multimedia files, Aesys® MultimediaEditor™ (MME)
packages or Aesys® Creo™ channel packages.
7.1.4 System lockout (energy saving)
If the bus engine is off, the system turns to lockout mode after 3 minutes from the last user interaction (or
from the bus engine switch-off it no interactions take place).
In lockout mode the LCD screen and the keyboard backlight is turned off and any further user interaction
with the system is prevented; only the Aesysbutton remains active and its coloration turns to green, just to
make clear that the system is in energy-saving mode (see Figure 13).
