VLANs are used to isolate traffic from the MSC components coming into the transport network.
Each FPS and RNC VLANs will run VRRP for redundancy in association with the BHS. The
VRRP master will retain ownership of the default gateway IP address that the BHS forwards
traffic to. A failure of the master will result in the standby taking ownership of the default gateway
IP address.
