IP Backhaul Physical Interface Features
The existing ASAP MDAs and Ethernet MDAs provide connectivity to the BTS and MSC.
Fractional DS-1 link members in a MC-MLPPP bundle is supported. Fractional DS-1/E-1 link
members are supported with LFI but the bundle contains only one member. The following
attributes are supported for the MC-MLPPP with fractional DS-1 link members.
A single, contiguous channel group less than 24 DS-0s on a DS-1 link is supported on the
ASAP MDA within a multi-class MLPPP bundle.
Fractional E1 links are not supported, non-contiguous DS-0 channel groups are not
supported and multiple channel groups on the DS-1 are not supported. The configuration
is blocked.
All channel groups within a given bundle must have the same bandwidth during normal
operation although changing individual link bandwidths is supported to allow the
bandwidth of the links in the bundle to be changed. Warnings are provided if all links in a
bundle are not configured for the same bandwidth.
All existing CMDA ER/MLS features such as MC-APS, IPCP, MC-MLPPP are supported
on FT1 MLPPP bundles. The default ingress and egress MC-MLPPP QoS behavior
remains as per a full DS-1 link and the user may have to adjust QoS parameters for lower
speed channel group configurations (for example, ingress re-assembly timers).
