The unreachables command enables the generation of ICMP destination unreachables on the router
interface. The rate at which ICMP unreachables is issued can be controlled with the optional number
and time parameters by indicating the maximum number of destination unreachable messages which
can be issued on the interface for a given time interval.
By default, generation of ICMP destination unreachable messages is enabled at a maximum rate of 10
per 60 second time interval.
The no form of this command disables the generation of icmp destination unreachable messages on
the router interface.
Default unreachables 100 10
Parameters number — The maximum number of ICMP unreachable messages to send. This parameter must be
specified with the seconds parameter.
Values 10 — 1000
seconds — The time frame in seconds used to limit the number of ICMP unreachable messages that
can be issued.
Values 1 — 60
