5.8 Individual testing
With individual testing the user can choose which
headlamps are to be tested. The test sequence can also
be selected.
5.8.1 Vehicle settings
! Devices with a trolley must be individually aligned for
each headlamp using the alignment laser.
! The inclination of the headlamp cut-off must be
inaccordance with legal requirements based on
ECEstandards:
$ For low beams max. 80 cm from the ground, the
inclination must be at least 1 %.
$ For low beams more than 80 cm from the ground,
the inclination must be at least 1.5 %.
The "Settings" menu appears after selecting the type of
test. Enter the typical vehicle settings in this menu.

On completion of the official testing procedure,
thedevice transfers the data to the PC via the serial
interface (RS232).

1. Enter the type of vehicle:
$ Motor vehicles (cars and trucks): Two headlamps
$ Motorcycle: One headlamp
$ Mopeds: One low beam only
2. Enter the type of headlamp:
$ EU asymmetrical
$ EU symmetrical
$ UK
3. Enter the type of light:
$ Halogen
$ Xenon
$ Bi-Xenon
$ LED
$ Bi-LED
4. Enter the headlamp inclination: Read off the cut-off
inclination specified by the manufacturer (e.g.1.2%)
from the top of the headlamp. Adjust the value with
the + and – keys.
5. Height: Adjust the distance of the headlamp from the
ground with the + and – keys.
6. Confirm with OK if all the entries are correct.
7. A query appears asking whether the fog lamps are to
be tested.

8. Confirm the query with Yes if the vehicle is fitted
with a fog lamp. If fog lamp testing is not to be
performed, respond to the query with No.
"Individual testing can then be started.
i Use the +/- keys to adjust the test specifications
if the specified inclination differs from the
manufacturer's data.
