6.1 FAULT-FINDING TABLE
SYMPTOM: VIBRATION IN DRIVE LINE AT LOW SPEED
Possible cause Remedy
Universal joint angle too large, caused for example
by excessive caster
Check universal joint angle
Play in universal joints Replace universal joint
Play in suspension bearing Replace suspension bearing
Play in slide coupling Replace prop shaft
Forks not in line Align forks
SYMPTOM: VIBRATION IN DRIVE LINE AT HIGH SPEED
Possible cause Remedy
Prop shaft imbalance Balance prop shafts or replace if necessary
