4.5 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SELECTOR SHAFT OIL SEAL
Removing selector shaft oil seal
1. Make a reference marking on the shifting
arm (12) and the selector finger (6) in relation
to the selector shaft (7).
2. Loosen the locking bolt. Take the shifting
arm (12) and the protective cover (11) off the
selector shaft.
3. Remove the spring washer (5). Drive the
selector shaft (7) out of the selector finger
and the housing.
4. Remove the retainer (3) from the housing.
5. Remove the oil seal (9) and the wiper seal
(10) from the housing.
6. Use the special tools (DAF no. 0535790)
and (DAF no. 0535817) to remove the
selector shaft bush (8) from the housing (2).
7. Remove the bleeder (4).
