Chapter 1: Introduction to Control 24
Control 24 is a dedicated control surface for re-
cording, mixing and editing with your TDM-
equipped Pro Tools system. A collaboration be-
tween Digidesign and Focusrite, Control 24
gives you precise, tactile control over the func-
tions and automatable aspects of Pro Tools, and
includes 16 premium microphone preamps.
Operations performed on Control 24 are equiv-
alent to the Pro Tools on-screen user interface
(UI). Traditional use of the mouse and key-
strokes from Pro Tools is also reflected in
Control 24.
Rotary data encoders and motorized faders on
24 channel strips facilitate navigation through
Pro Tools functions such as:
• Recording
• Mixing
• Editing
• Grouping
• Plug-in parameter adjustment
• Automation
Analog elements of Control 24 include:
• 16 premium quality Focusrite microphone
preamps
• 8 stereo channels submixer section
• Sophisticated control room and studio moni-
toring configurations
