Control 24 Reference Guide4
What is Control 24
There are some fundamental differences between Control 24 and a traditional mixing console. To
fully maximize the potential of this powerful tool, you should understand these differences.
With Control 24, you can route and manipulate the audio flow within Pro Tools, in the same way
you would use an analog mixing console with a tape machine. Like the on-screen mixing console in
the Mix window of Pro Tools, no audio actually passes through its channels.
The idea of a control surface should not be confused with the presence of actual analog signal flow
coming in and out of Control 24.
