If during automatic ventilation there is still an
inspiratory flow at the end of inspiration, the
device will determine how much volume could
not be applied. This volume will then be
included with the normal volume in the compli-
ance calculation.
With increasing spontaneous breathing activity,
the compliance values can be distorted. In this
case the measurement accuracy may be
reduced.
