5.7 Cooling
5.7.1 Temperature control
The regulation is performed via the opening degree of the E-valve (see chapter Control of the expansion
valves). The regulation is carried out separately for each temperature zone using its own controller parameter
set,wherebythetemperatureandsuperheatregulationiscarriedoutbyonePIDcontrollerforeach.
It is automatically decided whether the refrigeration point temperature controller (evaporator section filling
mode) or the superheat controller (maximum evaporator filling mode) is active. Depending on the specification
of the minimum superheat temperature, the evaporator can also be operated beyond the critical point of the
evaporatorcontrol(MSSpoint).
After the defrost (only in standalone operation using evaporator input sensor) or the restart of the controller, the
evaporator is first evacuated (solenoid valve is closed) and then refrigerant (fixed opening degree 100%) is
injectedforaconfigurabletime.
The two cooling relays are controlled at different times. The cooling relay operates according to the normally
open principle. Therefore no cooling takes place after the failure of the auxiliary power supply or total failure of
the controller!
Cooling via non-pulsed output (controller types UA 121 E, UA 131 E, UK 100 E, KR 160 E)
It is possible to control the cooling via a static, non-pulsed cooling output for the controller types UA 131 E, KR
160EandUK100E.Therelayiscontrolleddependingonthecurrentopeningdegree.
The following always applies: The output for the static cooling is switched off if the opening degree is zero. If
the opening degree of the furniture controller is greater than zero (there is a need for refrigeration), the output
forstaticcoolingisswitchedon.ThereisanindependentoutputforeachzoneforthecontrollertypesUK100E
andKR160E.Insingle-zoneoperation,onlythefirstoutputforstaticcoolingisset.Thesecondoutputremains
permanently switched off.
BothzonesarecontrolledviaacommonoutputforthecontrollertypesUA121EandUA131E.Staticcooling
is only switched off if both zones have an opening degree of zero. This output can be used, for example, to
enable cooling or to enable a compressor in operation with the case controller.
Duration of pulse width modulation
The duration of pulse width modulation can be selected. This is 3 or 6 seconds. The setting is performed using
theparameterÖG3s Interv.(Menu6-2-7).
The regulation is suspended for 6 seconds when switching over. Then the opening degree is output
with the selected duration. The resolution of the opening degree is 1% for both settings.
