Storagecompartmentforservicecounters(controller type UA 141 E)
The Inverted Defrostrelay(terminals63/64,functionreversed)canbeused,forexample,tointerruptthe
cooling of a storage compartment. The relay contact is closed when the cooling is running. The relay contact is
opened when the defrost is switched on:
If the controller switches on the defrost, the relay contact is opened.
If the controller switches off the defrost, the relay contact is closed.
The interruption of the cooling during the defrost is always during the safe defrost time for the storage
compartments. It may therefore take longer than defrosting in the 1st or 2nd temperature zone. In addition, this
relay is not switched on until the wait time has elapsed.
Manual defrost (not for UA 131 E in master/slave mode)
For a manual defrost (e.g. for service purposes), a defrost can be initiated via the system centre / store
computer / operator terminal, as follows:
Select Remote Control - Case Controller (or CAN bus address) - 3 Timer - 2 Defrost Timer and in the line
man. Abtauung set it to ON, or
viathehostcomputer(seeLDSWinoperatingmanual).
Automatic initiation of the defrost during first start
A defrost is automatically started during first start for the following controller types:
UA 121 E, UA 131 E, UA 141 E
In the case of discharge gas defrosting (hotgas defrosting), the 2nd defrost stage must not be
parametrised otherwise the 2nd defrost relay is not activated, as is generally desired with discharge
gas defrosting.

If any defrost (internal controller function or via LDSWin) is initiated and ended or prevented by the
conditions Defrost on demand/End via evaporator sensor, the complete safe defrost time must
have elapsed first until any manual defrost can be initiated again. If any further manual defrost
shouldbeinitiatedimmediately,thepreviousonemustbeendedfirst:
