Oil System Capacities:
12-10-05 Oil Change
The engine oil must be changed after 25 hours of operation.
It should be refilled in accordance with section "12-10-04
Engine Oil Replenishing" and the latest revision of Lycoming
Service Instruction No. 1014.
At the time of oil change the engine oil screens should be
removed, cleaned, and inspected for metal particles.
Change engine oil as follows:
1 Remove the cowling of the aircraft.
2 Cut the safety wire securing the oil drain plug.
3 Place a suitable container under the oil drain.
4 Unscrew engine oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain
thoroughly.
5 Remove oil pressure screen housing from engine accessory
housing.
6 Remove oil pressure screen from its housing.
7 Inspect oil pressure screen for metal particles and clean it.
8 Reinstall oil pressure screen in its housing.
9 Reinstall oil pressure screen housing to the engine acces-
sory housing using a new gasket.
I M P O R T A N T Ensure oil sump is empty prior to the following step.
10 Disconnect oil hose from oil suction sump fitting.
