To select a different font:
1. Open the Encoding & Layout page.
2. Expand the Layout Presets pane.
3. Navigate to the Metadata Elements panel and select an available font from the
Metadata Font drop-down list. The selected font is immediately applied to the
metadata overlay that is incorporated into the video.
Change the text used for Metadata:
If desired, select and configure up to four fields of metadata text to appear in the layout.
Metadata elements are used not only in layouts, but they are also used as part of
stand-alone OSDs, as part of the current events, and upcoming events shown on the
Recording Controls pane. On-screen metadata is captured in the recording, and
metadata is saved as part of the manifest for the recording. Metadata settings are not saved
in the layout presets.
NOTE: Metadata cannot be updated in the streamed or recorded content once a
recording is underway. Any changes made to metadata while a recording is in progress
are applied to the next recording, not the current recording.
1. Select the type of metadata from the Field: drop-down
list. Options in this list correspond to the 15 elements that
comprise the Dublin Core
®
Metadata Element Set.
For additional, more detailed information on these specific
metatdata field types, see
http://dublincore.org/documents/dces/#DCTERMS. For
an abbreviated summary of the Dublin Core metadata, see the
table that follows on the next page.
2. Select the Enable: check box to have the corresponding line
of metadata appear in the layout. Deselect it to omit that type
of metadata.
3. If desired, enter the default text for each metadata type in
the Default Value: field. For example, if the field type is
META_PUBLISHER, the default text might be Springfield
University or XYZ Corporation. Default text for META_
CONTRIBUTOR might be the name of a staff member whom
regularly gives presentations from the room where the SMP is
installed, such as Dr. Jane Smith.
