10.2.4 DDR4 and Optane PMem - memory population

Optane PMem population is limited to several patterns.
–
The same DDR4 DIMM type and capacity are used for each DDR4 and
Optane PMem population.

For Memory mode (MM), DDR4 and Optane PMem capacity ratio must be
between 1:4 and 1:16.

For App Direct (AD) mode, DDR4 and Optane PMem capacity ratio must be
between 1:1 and 1:8.
–
For App Direct (AD) mode, Optane PMem modules can be populated
symmetrically or asymmetrically across sockets.
–
Rank sparing mode is not supported.
Optane PMem population and supported DDR4 DIMM may change in
the future according to Intel’s validation result or specification-change.
