4.1 Pen Conditions
Before cutting media, the following five cutter-pen conditions must be specified.
(1) Cutter-blade length:..... Adjust the blade length by referring to the media thick-
ness table below.For details on adjusting the blade
length, see Section 2.4, "Adjusting and Mounting the
Cutter Pen".
(2) FORCE: ...................... Set the FORCE by referring to the table below.
(3) SPEED: ...................... Set the SPEED by referring to the table below.
(4) QUALITY:.................... Set the QUALITY by referring to the table below.
(5) OFFSET: ..................... Set to suit the cutter blade being used.
Optimal Cutting Conditions for Each Media Type
Blade Part Nos., Displayed Blade Types, and CUTTER OFFSET Values
When a blade type has been selected, the OFFSET is automatically adjusted by
±5 with respect to the default cutter offset value for that blade type. Select OTHER
to use settings other than those displayed for hard-to-cut media. Select PEN when
a plotting pen has been mounted in the plotter. Select POUNCE when a pouncing
tool has been mounted in the plotter.
