6.1 Changing the INITIAL FEED SPEED
The INITIAL FEED SPEED function allows you to change the speed for feeding the
media to detect its length after a media is loaded. This function is only effective if
the Media Type setting is ROLL 1 or ROLL 2.
This function should usually be set to NORMAL. Change its setting to SLOW,
however, when using heavy media or media that tends to slip during feeding. If the
media slips during the initialization routine, change the setting to SLOW.
SETTING PROCEDURE
1 Lower the media set lever. The following menu appears.
2Press the F4 key (INITIAL MENU). The initial menu shown below appears.
3Press the F3 key (INITIAL FEED SPEED). The following menu appears.
4 The asterisk “*” indicates the currently selected setting. Press the F4 key
(SLOW) to select the slow feed speed, and the F3 key (NORMAL) to select the
normal feed speed.
5Press the ENTER key to register your settings.
6Press the NEXT key to return to Step 1 and load the media.
This setting is retained in the plotter’s internal memory even when the power is
turned off.
