10.3.2 Device Driver
How to Inspect the Device Driver
1. Once a week, visually inspect the cable and connectors. The cable should not be
cracked or damaged.
2. Once a week, visually inspect the area where the biopsy needle connects with the
device driver.
3. If the device driver or its cable appears worn or damaged, replace the device driver.
How to Replace the Device Driver
1. Power off the system.
2. Completely unwrap the device driver cord and remove it from the cord management
plate.
3. Unplug the device driver from the console.
4. Using a new device driver, insert the cord into the receptacle. (The red dots align at
the top when attached correctly.)
5. Wrap the cord around the cord management plate.
6. Power on the system. The console beeps, and the Setup screen appears on the
Technologist display.
7. Install a suction canister, biopsy needle, saline, and tissue filter assembly as if
performing a biopsy.
8. Check that the system displays an indicator that the device driver, biopsy needle,
and tissue filter are connected and installed. Complete the Setup check list as
prompted.
9. When the system is ready for Test mode, the green Test button will flash. Press the
Test button to begin the testing procedure.
10. Follow the prompts on the Technologist display until testing is complete.
11. When testing is successful, the system goes into Standby mode.
12. Power off the system if desired.
13. Contact your local Hologic representative for product return instructions.
