Appendix B Troubleshooting
B.1 Error Recovery and Troubleshooting
Most faults and alert messages are cleared without result to your workflow. Follow the
instructions on the screen or fix the condition then clear the status from the Taskbar.
Some conditions require a system restart or indicate that more action is necessary (for
example, to call Hologic Technical Support). This appendix describes the message
categories and your actions to return the system to normal operation. If errors repeat,
contact Hologic Technical Support.
B.2 Types of Messages and Alert Messages
B.2.1 Fault Levels
There are five fault levels: Warning, Minor, Major, Critical, and Alerts.
Warning Faults
The Warning faults are not displayed to the user. These faults are recorded in the log
files.
Warning fault designs:
• Resolve through the software or communications commands.
• Do not cancel an exposure that is in progress.
• Do not prevent the start of a new exposure.
Minor Faults
Minor fault designs:
• Resolve through the software or communications commands.
• Do not cancel an exposure that is in progress.
• Require a response before a new exposure can start.
Major Faults
Major fault designs:
• Resolve through the software or communications commands.
• Cancel an exposure that is in progress.
• Prevent the start of a new exposure.
