However, you can disable this when creating a backup specification.
IMPORTANT:
Backup of archived logs cannot be done with the Data Protector Oracle ZDB integration.
Backup of archive logs has to be done following the standard Data Protector Oracle
integration backup procedure. For more information on Oracle archive log backup with

NOTE:
On EMC, decision support, application testing, and similar tasks are possible only if the
Oracle binaries are installed on the backup system as well. In most cases, however, the
Data Protector EMC integration requirement is that application binaries are installed on
the application system only.
Restore
Using Data Protector and the disk array integrations, you can perform the following
types of restore:
• Restoring from backup media to the application system on LAN (standard Data
Protector restore) and using RMAN on the application system, you can:
• recover a whole database
• recover a part of a database
• recover a whole database as it was at a specific point in time
• Using the instant recovery functionality and RMAN on the application system,
you can:
• perform a full database restore and database recovery
• perform recovery from incremental backup (for ZDB to tape or ZDB to
disk+tape)
• perform recovery from a chain of incremental backups (for ZDB to tape or
ZDB to disk+tape)
• restore a datafile to a location other than its original one
