IBM TotalStorage SAN32M-1 (2027-232) is a 2 Gbps FICON and Fibre Channel
switch with scalability from 8 to 32 ports for easy to manage midrange
infrastructure simplification and business continuity solutions. The SAN32M-1
can be used as an edge switch for highly scalable m-type enterprise-to-edge
SAN solutions.
IBM TotalStorage SAN140M (2026-140) is a 2Gbps FICON and Fibre Channel
director with scalability from 16 to 140 ports for highest availability enterprise
infrastructure simplification and business continuity solutions. 2 Gb Fibre
Channel, high-availability connectivity technology. Highlights of this family of
switches include:
򐂰 SAN140M director (2027-140): from 16 to 140 non-blocking Fibre Channels
ports, in 12 U rack space, and support for FCP and FICON environments
򐂰 SAN32M-1 switch (2027-232): from 8 to 32-port non-blocking Fibre Channel
ports, in 1.5 U rack space, and support for FCP and FICON environments
򐂰 LC connections
򐂰 Enterprise Fabric Connectivity (EFC) Management that includes “call-home”
and simple network management protocol (SNMP) alerts, e-mail notification,
and support for up to 48 SAN m-type directors and switches across a private
LAN
򐂰 In-band management with Open Systems Management Server features
CNT UltraNet Multi-service Director (UMD) 2042-N16, CNT FC/9000 Fibre
Channel Director 2042-256/128/001
IBM offers the CNT FC/9000Fibre Channel Director to support the ultrascalability
and upgradability required by rapidly growing e-business and other mission
critical applications. The CNT FC/9000Fibre Channel Director Designed to
provide ultra-scalability, upgradability and data center-level high availability with
N+1 redundancy for all active components
To help enable infrastructure simplification and business continuity solutions for
on demand enterprises, IBM offers the CNT UltraNet® Multi-service Director
(UMD), designed to provide ultra-scalability, high availability and extensible
architecture. Highlights of this family of directors include:
򐂰 2Gbps switching: 2042-N16 and 2042-256 with 32 to 256 ports; 2042-128
with 24 to 128 ports; 2042-001 with 16 to 64 ports with 8-port increments
򐂰 High-availability design with redundant power supplies and cooling fans,
automatic failover, call-home and concurrent firmware activation
򐂰 FC/9000-64 upgradable to FC/9000-128; FC/9000-128 upgradable to
FC/9000-256
򐂰 Logical domains; virtual ISLs and extensibility to 512-ports (UMD)
