Chapter 8
Diagnosing Problems
8.1 Introduction
Downtime can be reduced by diagnosing problems from observations related to the
failure, examining the FabGuard Event Logs, and checking hardware status.
8.2 Communication Problems
To correct communication problems, do the following:
Is the Ethernet cable connected to the Transpector electronics module and the
host computer (either directly or through a router/switch)?
Does the Transpector sensor IP address have the same network prefix as the
host computer?
Is Port 80 open on the host computer?
Is there an IP address conflict between the Transpector sensor and another
network device?
NOTE: Refer to Chapter 3, Connecting Transpector CPM for more information on
communications problems.
