Observe the following points when using the direct steam humidifi-
cation:
The direct steam humidification only works actively in one di-
rection. It only humidifies; it does not dehumidify.
The direct steam humidification is optimised for operation at
temperatures up to 40 °C.
If the direct steam humidification is used in combination with
the LED illumination, the heat radiating from the LEDs can re-
sult in the desired humidity not being reached. In addition,
there can be significant condensation in the incubation cham-
ber.
The Temperature parameter must be activated.
4.2.2 Connection Conditions
To commission the direct steam humidification, it must be con-
nected to an unpressurised water tank or to a pressurised water
supply. The inlet pressure must not exceed 0.3 bar.
The connection for water supply for the direct steam humidification
is located at the bottom of the casing and is designed for hoses
with a diameter of 6 to 7 mm.
Using tap water can quickly lead to limescale in the vaporiser of
the humidification unit, which would affect correct functioning.
Ultra pure water (WFI, water for injection purposes) must not be
used either as this is highly corrosive and thus damages the
equipment.
Adding detergents, disinfectants or similar chemicals to the wa-
ter for the direct steam humidification can damage the equip-
ment. Only use water without additions, in accordance to the
specification (see chapter 12.4.3 "Direct Steam Humidification",
