4.4 UV Decontamination
4.4.1 Setup and Function
The optional UV decontamination is used to kill microorganisms in
the air. To this end, the equipment’s rear wall features two units
with decontamination lamps.
The UV decontamination lamps emit high-energy UV radiation of
253.7 nm. The air drawn in by the radial fans is fed through this
light trap. The UV radiation kills any microorganisms in the air sup-
ply.
4.4.2 Operating the UV Decontamination
The UV decontamination is controlled using a pushbutton on the
right side of the equipment. The pushbutton lights up when the UV
decontamination is active. For safety reasons, the UV decontami-
nation lamps are switched off while the door is open.
