Control
The optional CO
2
control makes it possible to enrich the atmos-
phere in the incubation chamber by 0 to 20 % CO
2
. The CO
2
con-
trol option is particularly suited to cultivation of mammalian cells
and algae because the CO
2
ensures that the pH value in the cul-
ture solution is stable.
During normal operation, small amounts of CO
2
are constantly
dissipated into the environment. Leaking CO
2
can lead to dis-
comfort, loss of consciousness or even death by suffocation, es-
pecially in small rooms.
– The operator is obliged to install a monitoring system which
permanently monitors and analyses the CO
2
concentration
in the room.
– If you are using the CO
2
control, only operate the equip-
ment in well-ventilated areas.
– Comply with local health and safety regulations and regula-
tions regarding the use of CO
2
and it’s limits.
– Regularly check the gas pipelines for leaks.
Opening the ventilation opening at the back of the equipment
can lead to significantly higher gas consumption. We therefore
recommend leaving the ventilation opening closed when using

supply is controlled using a controlled valve. Inflow of CO
2
must be ensured using external supply where the pressure can be
regulated. On the right side of the casing, there is a hose nozzle for
a hose with a diameter of 3 to 4 mm to connect the supply.
