Aperture priority mode

Recording modes:
Set the aperture value to a higher number when you want a larger in-focus area (in front
of and behind the main subject), to a lower number for a smaller in-focus area.

Turn the control ring to select the aperture value
You can also make settings with the control dial.
When the aperture value is increased, the depth of field expands, i.e. more of the
fore- and background is rendered sharply. When the aperture value is reduced,
the depth of field gets smaller, i.e. less of the fore- and background is rendered
sharply.
Aperture values that can be set

You may not be able to select some values depending on the focal length the lens is set to
(zoom position).
About the exposure meter

Set aperture value
A proper exposure is not possible in the range indicated in red.
Recording motion pictures in
Aperture and shutter speed are automatically set.
When the resulting picture would be too bright or too dark, i.e. incorrectly exposed,
the numbers for the aperture value and shutter speed are shown in red.
The monitor or the viewfinder brightness may vary from the recorded picture.
