Zoom functions
The zoom ratio changes when the resolution is changed.

Optical zooming
Zooming in up to 7.1x is possible if pictures without have been selected by [Picture
Size] in the [Rec] menu. (→128)

Optical zooming cannot be used in the following cases:
• [Macro Zoom]
• With the Scene mode ([3D Photo Mode])

Extended optical zoom
Zooming in up to 13.9x is possible when pictures with have been selected by
[Picture Size] in the [Rec] menu (→128). EZ is short for “Extended optical zoom”.

Extended optical zoom cannot be used in the following cases:
• [Macro Zoom]
• Motion pictures
• When the [Burst] setting is set to or
• With the Scene modes ([HDR], [3D Photo Mode])
• [Creative Control] Mode ([Toy Effect])
• When the [Quality] setting is set to [ ], [ ] or [ ]
