4.2.7.2 The Sampler
The sampler is a box (a base with a cover) with pipes and electronics. It is
installed on a support near the MQC-II and the milk jar. The sampler is a
passive part of the milking robot’s internal milk transport facility. The
support is installed on the milk jar frame.
The function of the sampler is to separate a small quantity of the milk
for the test when a test must be done.
The sampler has the following primary parts:
• A control PCB
• Four photo diode sensors, one sensor for each quarter
• Four milk pipes, and one vacuum pipe (not in use)
• The power/data connector, for communication with the processor
• The sampler tube bundle connector, for transport of the milk samples
to the processor.
The sampler gets input from the processor.
The sampler sends output to the processor.
