4.2.9 Support Systems
The ASTRONAUT A3 Next has the following supporting systems:
• The T4C network with T4C PC
• The power supply
• The vacuum pump
• The compressor
• The milk storage tank.
4.2.9.1 T4C Network
The T4C network connects all network peripherals with each other and
takes care of all data exchange between the devices. The T4C network is
a star-based network and uses the TCP/IP network protocol to
communicate running at 10 or 100 Mbit/s. Addressing of the
(nodes/devices) is according to IPv4. IPv6 (supported by Windows®
Vista®) is not used.
The T4C network has the following parts:
• Industrial network switch
• Ethernet network cable
• A PC with the T4C software installed (see the T4C manual, not
discussed here)
• One or more devices.
The devices that can be connected to the T4C network are:
• Lely Astronaut A3
• CRS+
• T4C PC
• Lely Grazeway
• Lely Cosmix
• Lely Calm (via Calm gateway)
• Lely Hubble (via lantronix)
• Stand alone reader.
For service purposes, the T4C PC must be accessible via a phone or
internet connection.
The T4C network transports data between the T4C PC and the devices,
and between the CRS+ and the milking robots.
The figure shows an example of a T4C network.
