4.2.8 Cleaning System
For correct and hygienic operation, the ASTRONAUT A3 Next must be
cleaned. The outside of the milking robot is cleaned by the farmer on a
day-to-day basis. The cows teats and the inner parts of the milking robot
are cleaned by the milking robot.
The cleaning processes are initiated by both the milking robot and the
CRS+. The involved/cleaned parts depends on the cleaning process.
The milking robot has the following cleaning (methods):
• Steam cleaning
• sTDS cleaning
• Brush cleaning
• Lelywash
• Local rinse
• Cluster rinse
• Cluster cleaning
• Milk tank cleaning
• USA cleaning.
The cleaning is done with fresh water, cold and/or warm, and water
with detergent. There are three detergents available. These are:
• Astri-L (for cleaning the brushes)
• Astri-Cid (acid for cleaning/decalcifying the milking system)
• Astri-Lin (caustic for cleaning the milking system).
The cleaning system has the following parts:
• Boiler
• Steam sensor on the boiler
• Jetters
• Water valve
• Tubes
• Astri-L buffer
• Astri-L pump
• Astri-Lin pump
• Astri-Cid pump.
4.2.8.1 Twin Filter (Option)
Use of an automatic twin filter system makes sure a hot cleaning
automatically starts with a new filter.
