6.2.1.3 Shave the Udder and the Tail
1. Shave the bottom and front sides of the udder.
Note:
Shave the udder again as soon as the udder becomes hairy.
2. Cut off the tail plume a few centimetres below the last tail bone.
3. Shave the tail above the remaining plume.
6.2.1.4 Attach a QWES-H Tag on each Cow
Note:
For attaching other types of tags, refer to the instructions supplied with the
tag (page 4-3).
1. Find the number of the cow in the T4C PC.
Note:
The tag must be exactly attached to the cow as depicted (fig. 17
, page 6-5).
Otherwise the tag will not function properly!
2. Attach the responder (2, fig. 17, page 6-5) on the belt.
3. Attach the first set of number on the belt, starting with the first
number (3).
4. Shove the ring (4) on the belt.
5. Attach the weight (5) on the belt.
6. Push the belt through the ring (4).
7. Attach the second set of numbers on the belt, starting with the last
number.
8. Shove the belt through the first connector ring (1).
9. Shove the belt first through the second connector ring (1) and then
through the first connector ring (1).
10. Attach the belt on the cow's neck, with the responder left (2) and
tighten it.
11. Make sure the space between the belt and the cow's neck is no
more than 2 fingers (fig. 18
, page 6-6).
