Driving
O Vehicle height control must be turned off.
O All side doors and the back door must be
closed.
Q Vehicle height control speed
The vehicle height control speed will
change depending on the operating state of
the AHC.
Q Switching vehicle height mode while the
engine is stopped
O If the engine is stopped while the vehicle
height is being lowered, lowering will
continue.
O If any luggage is removed from the vehi-
cle or if any occupants leave the vehicle
within approximately 30 seconds of the
engine switch being turned off, the vehi-
cle height may be lowered by the auto
leveling function.
O Operating the height select switch will
have no effect while the engine is
stopped.
Q Automatic change in vehicle height
modes
O N mode is automatically selected when
all of the following conditions are met:
• The four-wheel drive control switch is
shifted to H4
• The Multi-terrain Select is turned off
O In the following situations, H2 mode is
automatically selected.
• When the four-wheel drive control
switch is shifted to L4
• When the Multi-terrain Select is turned
on

O If the vehicle speed exceeds 100 km/h
(62 mph), N mode is automatically
selected.
O If the vehicle speed drops to 80 km/h
(50 mph) or less, H1 mode is automati-
cally resumed.
X Four-wheel drive control switch is in L4
O If the vehicle speed exceeds 80 km/h
(50 mph), the vehicle height is lowered
to 25 mm (1.0 in.) higher than N mode
height.
O If the vehicle speed drops to 60 km/h
(37 mph) or less, H1 mode is automati-
cally resumed.
Q Automatic change in vehicle height
when in H2 mode
X Four-wheel drive control switch is in H4
O If the vehicle speed exceeds 30 km/h (19
mph), the vehicle height is lowered to 55
mm (2.2 in.) higher than N mode height.
O If the vehicle speed exceeds 60 km/h
(37 mph), H1 mode is automatically
selected.
O If the vehicle speed exceeds 100 km/h
(62 mph), N mode is automatically
selected.
O If the vehicle speed drops to 80 km/h
(50 mph) or less, H1 mode is automati-
cally resumed.
O If the vehicle speed drops to 40 km/h
(25 mph) or less, the vehicle height is
automatically set to 55 mm (2.2 in.)
higher than the N mode height.
O If the vehicle speed drops to 10 km/h (6
mph) or less, the vehicle height is auto-
matically set to 75 mm (3.0 in.) higher
than the N mode height.
X Four-wheel drive control switch is in L4
O If the vehicle speed exceeds 15 km/h (9
mph), the vehicle height is lowered to 75
mm (3.0 in.) higher than N mode height.
O If the vehicle speed exceeds 50 km/h (31
mph), H1 mode is automatically selected.
O If the vehicle speed exceeds 80 km/h
(50 mph), the vehicle height is lowered
to 25 mm (1.0 in.) higher than N mode
height.
O If the vehicle speed drops to 60 km/h
(37 mph) or less, H1 mode is automati-
