12.6: Main valve overview
A: Open/ Closed Centre Plug: After selecting the optimum hydraulic set up for
the machine in line with the diagram in section 12.2. the machine can then be set
to open or closed centre (please refer to 12.3 for additional information) as in A
below.
B: Flow Setting Screws: The flow setting screws can control the amount of oil
which is allowed to flow through the valve. Hence they can be used to calibrate
machine functions. Under normal operation these do not need to be adjusted,
however when a side tip is fitted the flow control setting on the tip port may need
to be adjusted slightly depending on bale weight. The flow setting for forward ring
rotation should never exceed 32 rpm when the tractor is at full working
revolutions.
