10.5.6: Apply grease to all exposed ram rods/ and any
exposed threads and grease all the grease points.
10.5.7: Clean and lubricate the rollers in the
bale chamber.
10.5.8: Apply oil/ spray grease to the knives
in the knife unit to stop them from
rusting.
Clean down all the chains using high pressure air. When they are clean.
Fill chain oil reservoir with chain oil & fit new grease cartridge, run PTO at approx
200 rpm and with the control box in manual mode, operate the bale tip up & down
for around 150 cycles to ensure that all chains have a heavy coating of oil applied,
and new grease is applied to all the bearings.
10.5.4: Clean and oil all chains and grease all bearings
10.5.5: Clean the netter unit and apply grease to the
netter knife
Knife frame
Clean the Net wrapping system as described in section 7.3.
Remove net roll and store as per manufacturers
instructions. Grease net knife and cut and hold knives to
prevent rusting, use extreme caution when carrying out this
operation, ensure to wear protective gloves and clothing!
Clean the rollers and apply a lubricant to the roller surface to
stop it from rusting over the winter period.
10.5.9: Change the gearbox oil
Follow the instruction as outlined in section 7.9
