12.6.1: Main valve port functions
The valve can be broken down into six main segments. The first segment
determines what oil flow the machine will have (open/ closed centre) and the
other five segments control the Cut and hold, Tip, Ring Rotate, Knives/drop floor
and Bale chamber.
Note: When conducting work on the machine it is important to understand
that when the machine is operated from the valve instead of the
control box all safety circuits are disabled and if a service technician
operates a series of functions which are not in sequence it can cause
machine damage. An example of this is operating the tip function if
the dispensers are not in the home position. This may cause the tip
arm to damage the dispenser.
