13. Drive systems
The machine is driven by a split drive gear box (Fig 1). The minimum working revs
required for machine operation is 540 rpm and working revs should never exceed
610 rpm during machine operation.
The left hand side of gearbox rotates in an anticlockwise direction and is driving
what we refer to as the drive side of the machine. All the chamber rollers are driven
from this side.
The right hand side of the gearbox rotates in a clockwise direction and is driving
What we refer to as the non drive side of the machine. This drives the chopper unit
rotor and the pick-up reel.

The complete drive system is protected by a CAM CLUTCH (Fig 2) mounted on the
gearbox end of the PTO shaft. Settings can be seen in Fig 13.5.
