9. Remove the main bearings from the cylinder block and crankcase cover.
Piston Disassembly
IMPORTANT: Disassemble each piston separately to ensure the components will not be intermixed. After disassembly, place
the components into a container that identifies the cylinder location.
1.
Remove the piston pin clips, and piston pin. Separate the connecting rod from the piston.
2. Use a piston ring expander to remove the top ring and the second ring.
3. Use a piston ring expander to remove the oil ring top scraper, bottom scraper, and the oil control ring.
