7. Insert the rocker shaft until it is fully seated in the cylinder head.

Cylinder Head Installation
1.
Rotate the crankshaft so the top pistons are at TDC and the drive gear on the crankshaft points to the timing mark on the
cylinder block.
2. Install a new cylinder head gasket.
a - Drive gear and cylinder timing marks
aligned
b - Pistons at TDC
c - Cylinder head gasket
3. Rotate the camshaft so the valves are fully closed.
4.
Lubricate the threads and head of the cylinder head screws and cylinder head perimeter screws with clean engine oil.
5. Install the cylinder head onto the cylinder block.
IMPORTANT: Cylinder head screws must be tightened in two steps and in the sequence shown.
6. Tighten the cylinder head screws and the perimeter screw to the specified torque in sequence in two steps.
