What to do if the photo eye will not cause the doors to reopen on my Motion Control Engineering Controller?
- LlewisemilyJul 30, 2025
To troubleshoot why the photo eye isn't causing the doors to reopen with your Motion Control Engineering Controller, begin by identifying the Photo Eye input abbreviation (PHE) using Table 5.4 on page 9. This will guide you to the signal location in Table 5.3 on page 8 and on the computer display. Once you know the address and position, check the PHE signal on the computer, starting by changing the display address to 20 and observing data bit number 7 (from the right). The diagnostic display should indicate the PHE input is ON when an obstruction breaks the photo eye beam. If so, verify the voltage at the PHE terminal to determine if the issue lies within the controller or externally.
