Chapter 1: Getting Started
1 T/RH sensor port: Directly behind the sampling inlet is a 5-pin LEMO® port
that receives the Temperature/Relative Humidity sensor.
Instruction for inserting and removing the T/RH probe are provided in Chapter
2.
Front Panel Features — The controls and display on the front panel allow you
to control the Lasair II particle counter, and view all its activities and consists of the
following features:
• Color LCD Display Screen: The Lasair II particle counter has a color liquid
crystal display (LCD) screen. The display screen is covered with an inert clear
plastic cover that reduces glare and is easy to clean.
• Control Panel: The control panel is located below the display screen and is
comprised of keys that are used to setup and operate the particle counter. Control
keys allow you to perform the following functions:
➢turn the particle counter on and off
➢lighten and darken the display screen
➢move the cursor in a screen field
➢increase or decrease a value in a screen field
➢start and stop the sampling sequence
• Softkey Panel: The softkey panel is the column of five arrows on the right side
of the display. Each arrow corresponds to the icon on the screen directly to the
left of that arrow. Icons represent options available on a particular screen.
