Lasair II Particle Counter Operations Manual Page 1-7
Internal Components
Significant internal components include the following:
Tubing: 3/4-inch I.D., polyethylene tubing is used between the sampling inlet
and the pump, and the pump and the outlet.
Pump: A regenerative blower pump is located at the base of the unit. The pump
is a low power, DC voltage-controlled unit that is controlled to keep the flow rate
at one cubic foot per minute. This pump was selected for its expected long life
and low maintenance requirements.
HEPA Filter: The internal HEPA filter eliminates 99.97% of all particles with a
size of 0.3 μm or greater. It is located just before the sample outlet to filter out
particles before the air leaves the particle counter.
