Saving Data to Other Media
Lasair II Particle Counter Operations Manual Page 6-17
To stop the red and yellow flashing:
After the pump stops, press the Enter key once more after pressing it to silence the
alarm. You can also silence alarms and stop the red and yellow blinking by
repeating the sampling, without exceeding an alarm limit, or by turning the unit
OFF and then ON.
Saving Data to Other Media
The Lasair II particle counter saves 3,000 sample data records internally. Once the
record file is full, a new record will displace the oldest record in the file. A Lasair
II particle counter set to sample once a minute will fill the record file in about 48
hours.
If you want to save the sample data, monitor the status of your particle counters
data file and copy the sample data before the data file is completely full. Remember,
once the data file is full, you will lose the oldest data when new sample data is
collected.
Monitoring the Sample Data File
To monitor status from the particle counter:
Follow these steps to monitor the status of the sample data file from the particle
counter.
1 Press the Information Icon softkey to open the Information Screen.
2 Observe the condition of the Data: “thermometer indicator”. The indicator will
display the number of records stored and as a relative degree to which the
thermometer is filled. The white space in the bar is a relative indication of the
amount of space remaining in the data file.
Saving the Sample Data File
You may want to copy the sample data to another file so it can be saved for long-
term retention or for data analysis. This can be done by any of the following
methods:
Data can be downloaded in CSV format by accessing the particle counter from a
web browser/Ethernet connection and using the Lasair II particle counter data
save feature. See Chapter 7 and Appendix E.
