8.2 Cleaning and dsnfect

WARNING
1 Read the cleanng agent data sheet, and the user manual
for all dsnfecton equpment
2 Wear gloves and safety glasses The O sensor contans
a small quantty of electrolyte, classfed as a harmful
rrtant, whch s potentally hazardous
3 Reuse of a non-dsnfected breathng system or reusable
accessores may cause cross-contamnaton
4 To prevent leaks, avod damagng any breathng system
components when dsassemblng and reassemblng
Ensure the correct nstallaton of the system, especally
component seals
5. Disconnect the electrical supply before cleaning.
6. Do not allow liquids to run into enclosed areas or on to
electronic components. Serious damage may result.
7 Pre-use checks must be performed before patent use
after cleanng and dsnfecton
CAUTION

2 leanng and dsnfecton materals
a) leanng solutons must have a pH of 70 to 105
b) Do not use Cidex or a generic equivalent.
c) Do not use organc, halogenated, or petroleum based
solvents
d) Do not use, anaesthetc agents, glass cleaners,
acetone, or other harsh cleanng agents
e) Do not use harsh abrasve cleanng agents (such as
steel wool, slver polsh or cleaner)
3 Do not soak synthetc rubber components for more than
15 mnutes Swellng or faster agng can occur
4 Do not apply excessve pressure to the dsplay screen
8.2.1 Exterior Surfaces
lean all surfaces wth an approprate dsnfectant, on a daly
bass, or mmedately f vsbly contamnated All surfaces,
especally those areas whch are lkely to have been touched
by the gloved hand that has been n contact wth blood
or secretons, wll be contamnated lean at the earlest
opportunty, between patents
Approprate dsnfectants are sopropyl alcohol, or alcohol
wpes (refer to AUTION 2, above)
