3.13.2 Volume Mode
The ventlator delvers a mandatory set volume of gas at
preset, fxed breath ntervals
WARNIN
Do not use volume mode for neonates Use ONLY pressure
control ventlaton (pressure mode) for mandatory
ventlaton of neonates
3.13.2.1 Fresh Gas Compensation
The delvered volume s adusted by up to 60% Ths delvered
volume wll consst of the volume delvered from the ventlator
bellows, plus the fresh gas flow from the anaesthetc machne
fresh gas supply, mnus any complance loss and mnus any
leak Ths gves a total actual nspred tdal volume
An alarm s trggered f the measured volume s 50% above or
below the set volume
Volume Mode Parameters
Tdal volume 20 - 1600 mL
Rate 4 - 100 bpm
IE rato 102 to 18
PEEP ‘Off’ or adustable 4 - 20 cmHO (opton, 4 - 30 cmHO)
Pressure lmt 10 to 80 cmHO
To set, touch the ‘LIMIT’ screen tab area, turn the Navgator
Wheel to select the requred value, press to confrm
Inspratory pause Varable 0 - 60% of nspratory
(does not affect IE rato) tme
Sgh Approxmately 15 x set VT s delvered every 10 to 100 breaths
(sgh to breath rato s user selectable)

Volume Mode selected from Standby Mode (1)
1 Press the screen tab ‘VV’ (2)
Volume Mode selected from Pressure Mode
1 Press the screen tab ‘VV’ The ventlator contnues to
ventlate n Pressure Mode
2 The VV dsplay shows the prevous settng, or default
settng

Set approprate values for the clncal procedure n
progress Take note of all on-screen symbols and dsplay
messages
3 Press to confrm change of mode and new settng
NOTE
Pressure lmt (3) wll default to the prevous Pressure
Target value + 5 cmHO
4 At confrmaton, the ventlator wll swtch to VV Mode
NOTE
Volume mode wll commence at the begnnng of an
exhalaton phase
