6.5 Ventilator
6.5.1 Spirometer Zero Calibration
1 heck that a breathng system bacteral flter s ftted
AUTION
Replacement/Dsposal - always follow the nstructons
suppled wth the flter
Always renew components at the recommended nterval
2 The two sprometry flow sensors are mounted wthn the
absorber n the nspratory and expratory arways
3 heck that the sprometer cable connecton (1) the rear of
the absorber s secure
NOTE
1 Incorrect connectons wll trgger the LOW TIDAL VOLUME
or HIH TIDAL VOLUME alarm
2 The ventlator can be used n the event of non-functonng
of the sprometer sensors
NOTE
a) Fresh gas compensaton s dsabled
b) Fresh gas mxture compensaton s dsabled
c) Patent support functon s dsabled
NOTE
1 The Sprometry system must be calbrated wth zero flow
gong through
2 Sprometry flow sensors removed for autoclavng
The ndvdual sprometers must be matched to the
specfc ventlator by a qualfed servce engneer
albraton procedure
The followng procedure must be performed by the user as
part of the daly check procedure
1 Dsconnect the fresh gas hose from the outlet (1 or 2) on
the rear or front of the anaesthetc machne (see section
3.8)
2 Remove the breathng crcut hoses from the nspratory (3)
and expratory (4) connectors on the absorber
3 Dsconnect the hose that connects the APL valve outlet
(5) at the rear of the absorber manfold block to the ASS
recever (or dsconnect the hose at the recever)
4 a) Remove the bag (6), and set the Bag/Vent control (7)
to Bag poston
or,
b) Ensure that the ventlator bellows (8) s empty,
5 albrate the sprometer va the ventlator menu
procedure
